Tips for Watering Your Garden

To calculate the run time, we need to consider the following:

1. Amount of water needed by a lawn. It is estimated that a conventional lawn, in a permeable soil, at the time of more heat and lack of rain, you need 10 liters of water per m2 and day to keep green. Currently there are control systems irrigation Wi-Fi or Bluetooth that can help you save water in the garden. If you couldn’t get the smart system, you could probably get the programmable memory timer for help.

2. Pressure and flow of water available in our garden from garden equipment. Pressure data and flow in the water intake is essential in our garden. The pressure can measure placing a pressure gauge on the water outlet and flow can calculate filling a container previously know their capacity and measuring the time it takes to fill.

3. Flow supplying irrigation emitters. These can be sprinklers or nozzles, among others. Depending on the pressure and nozzle irrigation emitter, emit a certain amount of water. To know we look at the information provided to us by the manufacturer.

Watering should moisten the soil to a depth of about 20 to 30 centimeters for a home garden with LED garden lights. This is the active root zone of the turf. The duration of irrigation and the amount of water needed to moisten the root zone depends on the type of soil and irrigation system.

Water will penetrate the sandy soil faster and deeper than in clay soils. To determine the length of time required to wet the root zone of the grass we have to put the sprinklers for 15 minutes. We dig a small hole in the ground or use a probe 24 hours later to determine how much has been dampened us the land. So we know how long we irrigate.
