Xiaomi's
product catalog is increasingly diverse: what began as a clear orientation to
the smartphone segment has been expanding to other devices such as televisions,
quantization bracelets or air purifiers.
Their new
creation wants to begin the conquest of our kitchen: they have launched a Xiaomi
Mi rice cooker that allows to cook the rice and thus offer an
alternative to the devices that normally come from Japanese manufacturers.
These
solutions are usually three to four times more expensive than the alternative
proposed by Xiaomi, said CEO Lei Jun, who also highlighted how this pot has a
connection to our smartphone to manage that cooking perfectly with Xiaomi
smart rice cooker.
The
device, as with other Xiaomi solutions for the home, is not manufactured by
Xiaomi itself, but by one of its partners. In this case that partner in the
manufacture is the Chinese company Mijia.
In the
official announcement Xiaomi officials highlighted we can scan the bar code or
QR of the rice package, which will allow rice to adjust its cooking methodology
to optimize the process depending on those brands: more than 200 are included,
and that Rice catalog will gradually expand.
This kind
of pot also serves to cook other things like cakes, indicated that
announcement. The device will be available in China from next April 6 from 999
yuan (137 euros), and at the moment has not been discussed its availability in
other markets.
